Athena Pioneers: Building Powerful Female Leaders
for the Future
While there’s been much progress for women getting hired into previously male-dominated fields, success seems to halt at mid-career levels. Breaking through to senior positions remains a challenge. Stemming the flow of women exiting their careers at this stage due to the lack of sponsors and support networks of like-minded female leaders in STEM fields, in particular, is a real challenge.
This cohort-based, mastermind-style program is designed to elevate women to senior leadership positions in STEM fields. It expands on the premise that women should develop their own leadership style and approach even in the face of only seeing male role models. Through a collaborative approach, participants form the bonds needed to advance with a strong network. Practically designed to learn – experience – reflect.

Leading at the senior levels of an organization often involves creating the future and leading the organization to that future. Transforming organizations is challenging work and requires a blend of art and science or people and systems. Being the leader everyone wants to follow into uncharted territory requires a well-established and communicated leadership brand, strong change-savvy skills, and a love of people development.
This program will focus on the building of organizational change champions and developing leaders with a knack for ecosystem thinking and management. A key aspect is the positioning and behaviors of direct and consistent exposure to the diverse perspectives in your organization.
